I think with a only object selected, "align" resolve with align to the page
I think it is important a button in the tool "distribute" for exchange the position of two objects selected

1. You can already align a single object to the page by setting the "Relative to" option to "page".
2. A patch for exchanging objects position is currently in progress (linked to this blueprint).
