'New from template' dialog
Inkscape users who use to have a great deal of templates would benefit from versatile dialog to choose between templates, organized into categories with a search by various criteria.

For example, I need to render a preview of an SVG file in the NewFromTemplate Dialog, and i don't know how to do so.

I've linked Bug #171342 (New from MRU template button). It's not in the specs but could be interesting to implement too.
Another bug we could try to get rid of is Bug #503712 (Personal default template not used).

The GSoC 2013 project "New from templates dialog" by Jan Darowski (Slagvi) was merged into trunk in r12476 (static templates) and r12570 (procedural templates), and is included in latest stable release 0.91. Further enhancements for the new dialog and the procedural templates feature should be handled separately.
