Hardware Pack Extensions
This discussion is for those with an interest in the Linaro hardware packs and associated toolchain to voice their requirements for any future changes.
During discussions about adding UEFI support to the linaro-media-create and hwpack creation toolchain, it became clear that some modifications to hardware packs and their tools may be required. This may involve the specification of a new hwpack format.
Discussion is general and not limited to a particular bootloader or technology.
Topics include:
- How do we want to improve hwpacks
- How can we streamline the way we use them
- Adding UEFI support
- Is there a need/desire to add support for:
* multiple platform variants, eg, Vexpress A5/A9/A15 in 1 hwpack
* multiple bootloaders, ie. u-boot and uefi, or variants of u-boot for each included platform
* Adding multiple device tree blobs
