Realistic rendering of atmospheric phenomenas
Registered by

I propose to make the sky more realistic - to take into account the some atmospheric phenomenas:
- clouds
- noctilucent clouds
- zodiacal light
- auroras
Skills needed: C++, OpenGL, geometry, basic astronomy, basic meteorology
Difficulty: from average to difficult depending on the subtask

Sprints
Whiteboard
Clouds could be put into a plugin: draw a cloud panorama on a sphere (like non-oldstyle landscapes), rotate it with some settable velocity around a horizontal axis (direction settable). Code reuse possible!
Noctilucent: different OpenGL mode.
Aurora: another sphere with animated texture. This seems quite tricky!
Zodiacal lights are not atmospheric! (And have been done with 0.13.2)
